By the way...I'm proud of being a Republican. When I see things like "spoken like a true Republican" it makes mish wish that I had been the one to say it. And I don't think Democrats are bad people....even though they seem to think that Republicans are. To me Democrat does not equal bad, misguided perhaps...but not bad.

Hey Charles.. did anyone ever reply back to you about what the Democrats stood FOR ?  (ie not what they are against)

Another subject about money and government spending.
My Mom works 4 months a year as a Tax preparer for H&R Block.   She works in an area that includes wealthy people and very poor people.
The one complaint she has to me regarding people who likes the democrats government hand out programs is this one.
She every year do ton of tax returns who all have nearly the identical same yearly income.
.. and each and every year they say the same to her.
At the start of the year, the tax "cheater" man holds his seminar on how much you can earn to MAXIMIZE your free government payout.   IE if you work for $10.00/hr you can work for xxx number of hours and then you quit your job on this day if you have 1 kid, this day if you have 2, this day if you have 3 etc...
Then when it comes to tax return time you goto a preparer (H&R Block) and have them do your taxes for you.. why because if anything ever comes back to you, you can blame them for the mistake.
This will give you the maximum amount of money you get back from the government for free each year.  Just make sure that you dont earn more than $xx,xxx.xx a year...
My mom asks why dont you earn more money by staying in your job rather than taking the return refund....  "because then I would not get as much of a return"  "Its Free Money, why should I have to work"

Sadly in many cases when I think of democrats and what they want to do for the poorest people in USA, I find this story compelling to realize that a large majority dont want to sacrifice their time and efforts to make a better life for themselves.   Next time you have some time.. ask Chris Gardner -- I am sure that he can tell you a story about being poor and working his way to the top.

Democrats, when faced with facts, often either get angry or respond with "All I know is..." and then try to insert what they would like to pass off as fact.

Please feel free to refute any of what I'm trying to pass off as fact. And why are you hatin' on Nick and his fellow Democrats? As I stated before, the politicians of those two parties are the same...parisites.

So what wells did Bush own show me the purchase order. Want a good reason why Haliburton is on the top of the list. They are the only company with the financial capital to be able to under take a contract to go to war. Now I know most of you do not know accounting but if you look at the financials they spent hundreds of millions of dollars to provide things for the war before they ever received a dime from the government. Tell me what contract company could afford to do that? A reason why we need Haliburton now when we didnt in previous wars. We do not have a draft we are now trying to become a more efficient military and there is no way anyone can make me believe that the government is more effecient as a public company.

That is quite funny how all the congress men and women were forced into voting for the war by the Bush admin they couldnt make up their own minds they didnt see the same intel the Putin in Russia saw or Blair in England who all said he has WMD and poses a serious threat. But no after looking at all of the info they had Bush came down to the senate floor with a shot gun and said you will now vote for the war so that I can get my oil money and murder a bunch of Iraqis because its fun. Come on seriously? If Bush was as manipulative as some of you think the smart thing would have been to claim that we need to attack Iraq at the same time as Afganistan and proclaim that they are one in the same and everyone would have jumped on that like a bad habit. But he didnt he waited checked to find out if there was good reason to go into Iraq. Am I a republican currently yes. But I am not a registered republican because I will change sides when the sides changes. But right now Dems are way to out in left field for me to ever vote Dems unless I had to conservatice Dem like Lieberman or someone else who is a Dem but gets it.

Never said anything about shotguns or force, Darbex. Go back and read the post. What I said was, Bush pushed the issue; speech after speech kicking the fear machine into high gear. I'm sure that those folks in the senate who voted for war believed what their president was telling them and, after 9/11, were scared sh_itless. My question still stands. Do you believe congress would have declared war on Iraq without Bush's constant hammering?

The shotgun was made in jest. And I believe they would have. They are grown ups they should make a sound decision and not blame someone else for there decisions which I hear from some Dems. They had the reports and intel that I might add was given to them by the then CIA director who was a democrat hold over from the Clinton administration who believed that something should be done about the WMD they believed Sadam had.
