    Makes me mad

    I wanted to share this.  Made me mad.

    When Gustav formned in the gulf, the HEB next door to me gas price went from $3.21 per gallon to $3.65 per gallon on Friday.

    Then on Sunday when the storm was going to for sure go to Louisianna the price dropped from $3.65 to $3.35

    It might be the Labor Day weekend price hike, but it looked more to be disaster related.

    it was stated on a news report that if/when Gustav entered the Gulf there would be a price increase to incase of storm damages.        Yes it is crap.      :evil:         can't recall news group / will ask hubby when he gets home

      SOP....nothing new....with or without Gustav, the oil companies always use the 3 day weekends to increase their profits....

          I was waching the weather channel yesterday and they said that when they knew the storm was weekining that gas would come down $4.00 a barrel.
          Fish are people too, they just have gills.

                  I would love to see oil at $4 a barrel, or even $40 a barrel, shoot I would take $100 a barrel for now. Or are you talking about the price of gas per gallon which is already below $4 a gallon.  Or are you referring to the drop of price per barrel of oil?  I'm easily confused  :wink:

                      All the Oil stocks are off by about 3% due to Gustov. ExxonMobil had to close a refinery due to power loss and slowing production from the gulf.

                      Oil flow to refineries reduces = price goes up
                      Fuel usage goes above production = price goes up

                        Crude oil price is now down $5.5/bbl, This AM it was down more than $6.
                        The wholesale price of gasoline followed ,as always, and is now $2.74/gal.
                        For those who can't find CNBC or other business channels, the gasoline price increase before Gustaf  followed the weather hyped-up price of crude, just like always; no evil plan, except for the media hype for Gustaf. I you stop watching the imbeciles on the "reality"shows you would be better informed.
                        On friday,
                        I was driving to a wedding in Austin, so I missed a great chance to make money selling oil , when I heard the extent of the media hype for Gustaf. Maybe next time.
