Nafta was destroyed when Bush took office. It was never design to take jobs to mexico. But........................let me finish watch the RNC.

Possibly, Delock. I think Ross Perot hit the nail on the head during the debates when he said Nafta would result in a huge sucking sound of jobs headed south. I think NAFTA was a very clear example of the way corporations get laws enacted for their benefit.

Just FYI for those who didnt know No child left behind act was first drafted up by Ted Kennedy and back by Bush. I think it was the worst thing for Bush to do but funny that you can say that its the Republicans fault that it isnt working. If you read the original Kennedy drafted up you would know that it was doomed from the beginning but Bush thought it was a good idea and a way to bridge the divide but it back fired because now Kennedy blames him for the failed policy and doesnt take accountability for a policy he wanted. Also, we spend more per capita on education then we ever have in our country inflation factored in. Thowing money isnt going to solve the problem we need parents to start being parents. National Healthcare is a joke. Find out what happens in Socialist countries that have it you will find out that the rich have supplemental insurance that they either pay for or their job pays for so that they can by pass the system and move to the front of the line. Doctors in those countries will see someone with supplemental insurance before someone with national health insurance because it insures that they will get paid timely and to the full amount. I have a friend from Britain and his whole family has supplemental because if they have to go to the ER they do not want to have to wait with the masses. Lastly (for now) check the books of any Dem and you will see plenty of the same people that you proclaim pay the Rep bank accounts lining the pockets of the Dems. It is every where so dont proclaim that the Republicans want lobyists and Dems dont because they both want it they want the money. Is that right? No but I dont go around proclaiming that the Republicans are clean in that respect.

The draft of Ted's version of "no child left behind" is not the same one implemented. Bush was trying to bridge the gap but none of Ted plans was put into effect. As a former teacher all schools should be equal in the terms of resources and other to TEACH a child.

I worked at a majority minorty school where we had 32 computers on the whole campus (22 was in my lab). Now let's compare this to a school similar in size on the other side of town and each classroom have atleast 6 and a lab with 30 or more. My 32 also include the staff and principal pc.

Don't know about the No child left behind debacle. Throwing money at any problem seldom fixes it.

I've heard the same thing about socialistic medicine. I think that it would still be better than no coverage at all. Ever been to the emergency room at UTMB with no insurance? You sit while those with insurance get seen first. On the face, not much different than you describe. I think the main difference is, when you do finally get seen and have insurance, you're not bankrupt afterwards.

Of course both sides take money. It's the Washington way. They all have been saying they want change in lobbying laws since the Jack Abramof days...but they still take the money, and vote how the lobbyists want.
