Been awhile since I posted here tank has been doing good but in the past week I have lost 3-4 shrimp and 2 otos. It seems like if I don't feed the shrimp daily I get dead ones. I dropped a small algae wafer in 3 days ago and all the shrimp and the otos immediately went all out eating it. The nitrates have been high for a but so I added some duckweed today to try and combat that some. Since I put it in half of the shrimp and all of my micro fish have been right under it. I just did a water test and got 6.4 ph 0 amm 0 nitrite 80 nitrate 2 degrees gh and kh. Any ideas on why I'm getting deaths?

Found out from jozle that I've been doing too large of water changes (50-70% a week) and I believe I've been cleaning the filter too much (every 4-6 weeks just rinsing the media in old water).

Try sloping the substrate so that it is thicker in the back. Also, partially bury the bottom of rock. That way it looks like it has been there.

Cool I have a set for regular filter tube cleaning.

It's all good, my lily pipes have it too. It is glass after all. Just get yourself some flexible pipe cleaning sticks and you're good.

I have started to see some brown algae in the middle of my lily pipe inlet. Is this normal with high light? Should I be concerned about it?

I would just rip it apart and plant them.

For neos? Or caridinas? I know it's a good pH for caridinas which is why I want to add them with my neos.

I added 4 of my daughter's pink rams horn snails and they have started blowing up in this tank. Pic shows about half of them floating.
