Starting a shrimp nano

Sounds good. I'll guess I'll be ordering some from you in a little while. Should I look at getting the filter this week and setting it up on my tank to start the cycle?

'Ark' on Aquabid has OEBTs . . . and he is in Pearland I believe. Mine are slowly breeding, but I'm not selling yet.

What filter would you recommend? I was thinking a U1 but not sure how shrimp would do with that. I have always liked the OEBTs just got to find someone that has some locally that are used to Houston water.

I wouldn't recommend cardinals in a tank that size . . . Sakura Reds could work for the red and OEBTs for the blue. The reds will eventually take over, but if you keep the population in check, its doable. I'd go with a pH lowering substrate if that is the case. Put in whatever plants you want and let it cycle/ age for a while before adding the shrimp. Shrimp like old tanks.

I'd like two breeds one that's a deep blue and a dark red. Still trying to find the best ones that I can combine with out interbreeding. If you know any that would work that'd be awesome. I do like cardinals.

Going to start shrimp nano here soon hopefully. Going for a 4-7 gallon tank. Any thoughts on substrate, filter, light, moss?
