Came to find new shrimp in my tank.

I've been leaving the tank alone for the most part (top off water every few days as it loses 20% in 3 days, water changes every 3 weeks) and I have berried shrimp now. I think I was over maintaining the tank.

Different test kits. API is the basic line and gives a decent reading. ELOS makes some really badarse test kits, but can get pricey as they have a kit per test (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, gh, kh, etc.) instead of an all in one kind of thing. They are extremely accurate though. I believe they have a test kit for almost everything you can test in the water.

After 3.5hrs had an almost 9 degree drop from 84-75.4

Working on a list.

It's 3 60x60x15mm 3800rpm pc fans running off a dc to molex adapter. Temp has dropped 2 degrees in 5 min already.

Ok so far the only babies I've had in the tank were from a female that was berried when it was added.

10 shrimp should rebuild a colony if they are adults. I'd maintain them for a month and see if there are any further issues before adding any more stock. Watch for females and any that might be more sensitive. Once you succeed with your first clutch and offspring it is the best indicator of a good environment.
