Am I the only one losing fish ??? The waters perfect and yet I'm still losing fish ...
-
You know what? Never mind, I might just be confused with a different fish or something. After seeing the pictures in the link, I think mine might be all brigittaes. At first, I looked up the merah on google images and they looked like what i thought were strawberries. I really can't tell the difference between most of these. As long as these guys get more red, I'm fine. Just thought I had a few different ones mixed in.

Yeah I have like one that I noticed from the previous but now there's a larger group of them.
Ill keep mine since it'll be too much trouble to dig them out.

Interesting . . . I'll look at mine when I get home. I noticed that they colored up, but did not look too closely at them. I personally like the merahs better.
ek: You should have already had a couple merah when you emptied my 30g tank that had CRS of fish.
If anybody wants to switch some around to try to get all of one species, let me know. I'll switch with you.

Think strawberries is a common name for a different sp.
The two sp. In question are merah and brigittae

i only bought 10 but while staring at them last night, i noticed the same. some of them have more of a spot than a dark line going back to the tail. i was wondering the same if there may have been some strawberries mixed in with the chillis

Not much of an issue for me either but now I have over a hundred mixed boraras.
LoL

Yes you are correct, the mixed in ones are from the second group buy. The first group buy I was able to obtain a large qty of and they are all very identical in pattern.

Haha, I actually Google both fish to make sure what u meant and they mentioned color intensity being the main difference.... But I don't even have to check now bc I too had noticed that difference but didn't attribute it to them being different type.. but all the merahs came from this 2nd group buy not the 1st

The red coloration is not of my concern, I am more concerned about the dark colored pattern, Spot-Line pattern is more of the Merah while the Brigittae is more of just a Line.

I tought the males have the deeper color while the females lack most color or vise versa.... Could be a possibility as all of mine from both group buy acclimated well but only some show that nice coloration, ill pay a close look at them tomorrow

Question for those that bought large groups of these and have successfully acclimated their stock to their tanks and exhibiting full coloration... Anyone notice that some of their boraras brigittae are actually boraras merah? I've kept most of the boraras available to the hobby and these some of the ones I netted myself are in closer resemblance to the merah.
