SW can be normal water mixed with salt or RO mixed with salt. But b/c tap water has a lot of other elements in it SW should be RO water mixed with salt. Tap water has a lot of phosphates and this will feed algae growth in the tank, which you want to avoid. Even with RO water controlling algae is hard as is.
So, I buy SW (RO mixed with salt) and RO water. The straight RO water is to top off the tank. When water in the tank evaporates the salinity goes up. The goal is to keep salinity stable.
Yeah they are on a separate rock kind of tucked away and they are huge when they open up thanks for the heads up I will make sure that they dont leave that rock. I went to CP and picked up some frags. Sonja picked a Acan frag and I got a zoa frag with red center and green tenticles and there was two polyps of a bright green zoa as well. I did a WC so I will take pics of the new corals when they water clarity is back to normal. Also HAW is selling water now they got them for .65 or so a gallon
ohh and they also grow well with little light, so you can put them in darker areas of the tank. I have mine on a rock in the sand bed and you can see them feeding all day.
