I noticed it yesterday. I thought it might be the purigen but all of my SPS are fine and I would have thought those would be the first to go. But its mainly hitting my zoas and the one LPS. About half of my zoas are getting lighter in color. I just did another WC to see if that helps. Not sure if I should add a dose of Prime in.

if so maybe chemical issue, if not maybe some other things i assume..

How'd you refresh the magic beans?

I imagine with bleach right? Did you make sure it was unscented bleach? And then soak it in water then air it out to dry first? I normally soak mines in water for 1-2 days and then air dry for another 1-2 days before adding it back into my system.

My whole tank bleached out when I put a used pump into my tank. Some sorta chemical or toxins left over from the last user. Run some carbon asap. I got some good sheit if you wanna stop by and grab some. Brs rox .8

I also got poly filter, that would help if it's a chemical issue.

By the way I recently did a WC and refreshed my magic beans. Checked the water and my sg is 1.23 which is normal and my nitrogens are 0

Anyone know why my zoas and frog spawn are getting lighter in color? My pink polys are almost white

If you're gonna have a canopy, why not just do both?

I would do a nice array of LEDs and throw in a 250w in the middle. Run it for 4 hours and the LEDs for the rest of the day.

Baby woke up and I couldnt go back to sleep. Guess I will have to decide on LED or MH because I wont need dimmable feature on a MH fixture.

Just the reg one. If you wanna save a little money you cab get the apex lite.

Diff between them is 0-10v analog control. For stuff like tunze powerheads or if you have a dimmable light fixture.

Diy LEDs + apex = badass
Ati dimmable t5ho = baller

Apex has a "real time table". So you could program your tank with the seasons. Summer let's the tank go warmer and longer light period. Winter a few deg cooler and shorter light time. Pretty cool, I never got a chance to use it because my LEDs has its own controller. Man y'all sleep late. You up reading aquarium stuff? Lol

Yeah I am waiting on these Boost LEDs to see if they can mimic MH growth on this tank

I bought a wireless adapter for my apex. So it's wireless too. Just cost 50 bucks for the adapter.

I can access mines from anywhere. I just put my ip address in the URL bar and type in my user name/password and I can monitor or change anything I want.

All controllers can be set up to do ato. You just need the breakout box, switches and do a little programming.

Yea heat sucks on mh but t5 are so costly to replace. You could always pony up and get LEDs.

You have the neptune right? Thats the one with remote programming? I just read the Digital Aquatics is coming out with a controller with WiFi so you can access it via WWW. I didnt know the Apex allows for set-up to control ATO. I will take the switches. I want MH for the growth but I dont like the energy and heat consumption of it though.

looks like youre basically set up already. Since you got the chiller might as well go all out MH. If I were you i'd do MH with Leds blues supplement lighting. If you're getting the apex, then you can do dimming straight from there with a meanwell led driver.

Hey I have some floatswitches from ATO.com and the neptune breakout box. So you can set up your own ato with programming on the apex controller. Let me know if you want it.

I was gonna do this but my stand is not that big and my sump took up all the space already, so i needed something more compact + jesse at elos is a good salesman....

Made out like gang busters on my new project this weekend picked up a huge sump and another MP40W. So now I have the following:
90G RR tank
2x MP40
30x16x16 sump
PM Bullet and collection cup
1/3 HP chiller with controller

All I need now is lights (which I am trying to decide what to get), a new stand and canopy to be built later by Justin, ATO, two pumps for my sump, Calcium reactor, and probably going to get a Neptune controller.
