Yep clowns like any other fish out there will get light in color when stressed.

Also, I read that the dominant in a group of clowns will be the lightest....but this is after they have settled in of course.

I had to get me a male from petsmart, I've never had any babie/juvi kenyi turn yellow in the time I have been keeping them.

The clowns look great Mike, coloured up already.

The syno has darkened up some aswell. Hes really active, swimming around digging in the substrate.

Spot, my wife lied, he has solid spots not rings.

Whos Christopher Michael Brown?

I tried putting some 4" goldfish in with my ~5"Fahaka. At first he followed them around the tank just watching them. Then he bit the face off one of the goldfish and followed it around the tank. It kept swimming without a face, i managed to get 2 of the goldfish out. It was sick. I have a video, but wont be posting it on Youtube.

Geez, and after I got off the phone I grabbed the flashlight and tried to see if he had even a hint of having a ring instead of a spot!   Mr. Ocellifer was probably wondering what the heck was wrong with him.  He kept coming up to the front tho so I could get a good look.  And I guess I'm a sucker for a handsome fish, cause I have him a treat for putting up with my examining  :).  Guess I'll have to wait til he grows some.  I saw the rings on the pictures on planetcatfish.com on the species data page.
