Something is going down. I am seeing an explosion of some slimy red algae. Anyone know what it is and what is causing it?

Nah I bought the stock LED from JBJ. The funny thing is I found out if you buy the JBJ PC set-up it goes for around $300 and sometimes lower if you find specials. I bought the LED hood for $400 so I spent just under $700. Most places sell the JBJ LED set-up for $750+ so I ended up saving some money.

I didn't read this thread earlier, but i know a lot of people who are having the same heat issues with the HQI on the Nanocubes. The most common solution i've heard is to install a computer fan blowing OUT. It's a $20 fix compared to a $400 one.

Well they are now saying that its going to take another 3 or 4 weeks to get the hood from JBJ so I had to cancel my order and order from Marinedepot since they will get it in 2 weeks they cost a little more but I should have went with them from the beginning since I now they are fast.

Ok so I gave up on my trial with MH its just too hot and with the light so close to the water it just wont work. Got tired of losing corals from the heat. Not sure how JBJ planned on their HQI working unless you spend $400 on a chiller. So for me instead of spending $400 on a chiller I would rather spend that on a cool LED light. Will let you all know how it goes.

Well I noticed that my zoas all appear to be doing great knock on wood. The Radioactive that you gave me Madugo is starting to spread and I see 3 or 4 new heads. Also the red zoas from the goup buy is growing new heads along with my other red zoas from CP. My light is supposed to be here either this week or next cant wait.

if it stays 79 that would be good....
just make sure the temp does not swing too much...

Well we will see how the probe handles it. This morning it was down to 79 which is the lowest I have seen it since adding the MH. Its weird that the corals were doing fine then all of the sudden. The fish are all fine just the corals are taking something hard and its like one by one.

what is your house temp...
i would say things wont do too good above 80 man...
is there anyway you can lift up your cover? and put a fan in between the cover and water surface...
my tank is like 15 gallon, with 150w mh...and a fan...temp would be like 75 or below without a heater...so i running a heater all day to pull the temp back up to 77-78....
