Re: what kinda jobs do yall have??
Teachers...man I wanted to be one, but I gave up because, it would tear me up not that I couldnt reach one of my kids.
I would want to be so successful and them also, that none would leave without learning.
The biggest problem is parents.
My 1st Grader had a end of school party. Her class is a mixed class of middle class with some upper-middle, and some low income.
I was the only parent that volunteered to work the carnival. Not a single one of the others would make the time. It was suppose to be 2 parents per shift with three one-hour shifts. I worked 4 hours by myself serving nachos with cheese to about 400 kids. IT sucked, but I loved it. The only help I had were a few PTA people to help me when the lines got really long and I had to go get my own chips and cheese. A cafteria lady did help a couple times with getting a crock pot going to get chese melting again.
Then, a few days later it was the end of the year class party. I bought 20 whoopie cushions, 20 large waterguns, and 5 bags of candy. Other than some new pencils, sticker gbook, and a whistle, there were no other items or candy that was not what I brought.
Later I found out from the Teacher, no one but me and three other parents donated items for the party.
I'm a single parent, and I think the biggest problem is people dont care anymore. They've put it all on the schools to raise their child.
You ask a kid how to spell love, and they'll resond T-I-M-E
