That was obviously a different time then and people were allowed to revolt and take up arms to promote what they felt was right. Laws are now put in place to try and keep people civil.

actually they were more stringent laws to keep people civil back then. now there is more leaway to revolt what is wrong people just don't n-e-more.

kind of...people are allowed to protest(not revolt)...to speak out and not be punished for it, but people are not allowed to grab guns and make their point be heard. In the past these protests were needed...when women protested for their equal rights, when blacks marched and showed their presence was strong, but now days I'm glad that many protests fall on deaf ears. It seems like year after year more ignorant individuals decide to group up and try and make a stand on something. It is scary to think that our country is annually getting dumber. I mean go to your local university or college and see just how many individuals cant spell words correctly...

Just to prove the point that we are getting dumber...Global warming was pushed on us for the last couple years really strongly and now all of sudden a couple of leaked emails from a few "important" scientists get out and the whole idea is up in the air now. It should be common knowledge to know that Earth as a planet goes through heating and cooling phases on its own...always has and always will....during those phases the oceans rise and fall accordingly.

Another example of dumbness...was during the last election(I promise to keep this clean and simple...not a political debate) while standing in line to vote at the booths, reporters went out and purposely asked voters how they felt about a certain canidate "A's" platforms and plans, while stating the platforms and plans of canidate "B". MANY voters said that they supported that plan and that was why they were out voting. Which means they had no idea of the plans set out by canidate "A" and were out voting just to vote because it was the popular thing to do. To me that is absolutely ignorant. Something as important as that should not be left in the hands of an ignorant individual.

well less than 50&#37; of all eligible people vote. why do you think a Senator can do what ever he/she wants...they have no-one to answer to. in australia you get fined for not voting they should do that here. then give the $$$$ to those who voted.

It always irritates me when people think they're opinion is more valid than the uneducated masses........... why is that ?
