What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
It is in what would be considered a high traffic area. But fortunate for me as they are getting used to the tank and set up. It is only Soni and I that travel by the tank so even on a congested day there is currently only two people in this big house.
Yeah they are awesome looking. They are huge too. She also has some beautiful WC that she kept and her Altums are pretty.
really believe your patience will prevail in acclimating them. these guys ALL originated thru Dan @ HAW. they are awesome!
just have to try the Altums. besides Dan is always getting more great fish in and I kept some for the 72g.

Yeah I got a 260W coming in dont need that much output but it was cheap and they are on two different switches so I can bring it down to 130W. And it comes with lunars so that should give it an awesome look at night. I think I need to add something else into the tank fish wise. I need just the right color to really bring out the Blue in the Discus. I have decided what yet. Thinking rummy's or maybe cardinals but they might have to much blue and will get drowned out. And the Rummy's have a lot of grey and my Para tetras already have that covered. I have the Furcatas and could expand that group but I was originally only going to have a handful to give it a splash. What do you all think?
One thing no one will ever notice. The large boulder on the right there is a Snowball Pleco that hides. He made a little home on the back side wich is covered by the driftwood in front and another boulder in the back. I have never seen him leave his cave but I know he is alive I look threw a crack and can see him move. Dont know what his deal is but as long as he is happy but I would love to see his colors
Seeing some positive behavioral changes. I am now allowed to walk up to the tank slow but I can and some of them will come up to me but if I start moving my hand to them they move away. They are starting to eat more and swim around when I am present and they are either fighting or playing either way that shows some comfort level with the tank and surroundings. So I am excited. One thing I am worried about is it seems that the clan has adopted my Juvi Leopard but either they dont want him or he doesnt want to be a part of the clan the yellow crystal stays by himself. I got the lights in last night I will try to take some new pics.
You're making great progress. It's good to see they're starting to settle in and set their pecking order. I don't have a lot (barely any) plant cover in my tank, but they do have a large piece of wood they like to hover under when startled. I picked up a Penang Eruption from Dan the other day and he's slowly but surely being accepted by the others, so just give them time to get used to their new surroundings and each other.

Now I might be hyping myself up that things are going well. But I turned on the lights when I got home and started to feed them some brine shrimp now that they let me to the glass. Well two of them have started picking at the driftwood on the right side of the tank like they are trying to clean it. The only time I have seen this happen was when my Koi angels clean the annubias to begin spawning on it. Could this be the case for these Discus? This would be tremendously fast the Koi's took about 5 months before they started to mate after we first got them.
It would be super if they were, but from the pic they look to be pretty young. But then, the tank is so large I could very well be mistaken. Mine pick at the wood all the time, I think mine are just bored . They seem to be settling right in and making themselves at home, congrats. Keep an eye on them, if they are truly making preparations to spawn, they will run off the others, just like angels do.

They have begun to do that they do allow one Discus towards the bottom of the tank to sit at the bottom but they chase off everyone else and then go back to picking at the wood towards the top of the tank. These guys that are doing this are about 5" +/-
Ok, that's sounds real promising, do you have another tank to move the other fish to 8O . It was hard to judge the size from the photo but I would think that at 5" they would be a year or so old. Are these the ones you got from Virginia, if so, she may want them back lol.

Yeah these are. She knows they spawn. She gave me two pairs that have spawned for her but she didnt want the hassle of it and wants an all boys club so that is how I came to acquire them. Actually one of the pairs and I dont remember if this was the pair I think it was the other pair had spawned in her tank when I got these and had eggs on the side.
