I'm assuming the water will be fine since it's been over a 24 hr period since the last 50 % water change.

Actually no I didn't because I don't have any fish. All I have done since I started was do the daily 50% water changes, feel the plants their initial root tabs, and Leaf Zone. But no water conditioner. I also didn't recall seeing anywhere mentioned that I should condition the water for a Low Tech Tank. Lol.... good thing I'm asking this question.

Thanks we'll see, I'm hoping there won't be any casualties. Do you think I should add any water contidioners ? I'm assuming that the chlorine in the water has disappeared since I didn't do any water changes and the plants are ok.

Shrimp are fine with plants. I personally have amano, red cherry, and ghost shrimp in my planted tank. Many people keep amano shrimp in a planted tank to help clean the plants of algae. Reason I asked is some snail eating fish will snack on shrimp, so whatever plan you have in mind for snail control research and think ahead. I suggested assassin snails cause they are shrimp safe from my experience. There are many options out there for snail control but those options may limit what you can stock later on.

Don't know what effect they may have on the plants. I have to read up.
