Re: Took forever but here is my new tank!

I guess when you have that many plants you don't have to vacuum gravel?  I don't have any "ground cover" plants, so when I vac gravel I end up relocating most of the plants a bit.

So how do you deal with dirty gravel with a heavily planted tank?

It really looks great Ek - where did you finally find the black wood?

I thought I'd see some of your galaxies in there - er, um, celestial pearls (I'm still stuck on calling them galaxies...).  I thought I read somewhere that you had some.

                      Great Job!

Re: Took forever but here is my new tank!

I don't do gravel cleans on my planted tanks and don't feel the need to. I do siphon the surface to pick up whatever debris that lays there.

I got the black wood from AquaForest in cali.

The Celestials are in the 30g heavily planted where they can do their thing! I have like 30-40 of them in there.

Re: Took forever but here is my new tank!

What is that small short sparse ground cover in the front of your tank?  Is it Riccia (Ricca? unsure of spelling)?  If so, did you find it local and where?  I've gotten some before from az aquatics, but it was a teeny tiny bit and didn't make it.  It was half gone upon arrival.  I'd like to get some more, most of my stuff is in the backs of my tanks since I've nothing short for the foreground.

I'm afraid to put all my celestials together as I don't want all my eggs in one basket so to speak.  I've got about 12 in a 10g and 20 or so in a 20L.  Been thinking of doing a thicket in one of the 40 breeder tanks and letting the 20L ones loose in there, perhaps with a couple of the longfin bn babies.
They done their thing yet?  Mine haven't that I can tell :(.  They're still pretty little fishies to look at tho!

Re: Took forever but here is my new tank!

The foreground in this tank is Marsiela Minuta which is similar in shape to glosso but much better looking and easier to maintain. I got it from Southernflounder a little while back.

My Celestials are just now making their come back and looking like healthy fish compared to what they looked like when I first got them but there are some doing the shakey shake.

Where did you get yours from? Local or online?  I ordered all of mine online as I couldn't find anyone that had any.  What do you mean by shakey shake?  Were they sick?

I heard some shop (dont remember who) had them at one point and they were selling for 12 or 13 EACH!  Guess I got lucky, they were lots cheaper when I got mine.
