Is it the same as a regular fishing license?  I thought it might be different (collecting as specimens vs. collecting as food).  I thought I read on the parks/wildlife site somewhere about also needing a certain type of license if you want to collect plants.

that would probably be a pretty neat trip.  cant make it at that time... maybe sometime in the future tho.

Not sure about plants, but a regular fishing license will cover you for collecting non-game fish (considered as bait!). To take frogs or turtles, you are SUPPOSED to have a hunting license.

yes i have my fishing license/ im good till july. hey if im not catching anything i can always just go catch some bait and go fishing for real  and i will do my best to take pictures,

ok a bump on the upcoming trip. I am going to go no matter what pops up and it seems everything is trying to. as of right now i have two people going. and im sure said other teamate would be happy to take pictures of me wallowing around in ditches. so i gotta find my digital camera, maybe i borrow tim's, he trusts me for some reason  anyway if anyone is interested in going please speak up because i cant read your minds through the webpage :wink:

I am interested in any extra shiners, minnows, suckers,  madtom catfish, young eels, baby pickerel, baby gar, sirens, waterdogs, dwarf crawfish, or mud/musk turtles you might catch. Thanks.

i will see what i can catch, but from reports it is mostly things like sailfin mollies/and different killifish, and little perch of one type of another. probably catch some crays too. will see if i find any dwarf.

Why didn't you go to the ALA Convention?!?! We had 2 full days of collecting! Very fun.

i couldnt go because i cant just tank off from work. it doesnt work that way for me  because i have those long weekly classes to schedule and all. but yeah im going tommorow. i wonder which ride were taking since mine is small but without ac. hmmmmmm. of course since it is my trip i will cover gas for anyone riding with me :wink: , that way i can listen to my new stereo all the way there.   why are you off 2morrow MB?

well i am off. a little later then i wanted to leave but hey, when u gotta sleep in a little its just gotta happen. i dont think i have a digital camera at the apartment i will check one more time but will take a few picks on my phone to show at te next meeting. and of course i cna eventualy get them on here if they are at my residence  anywho, Winnie here i come again, and this time is doenst involve beer or mardigras beads. At least yet
