I wasn't able to find a Purigen specific media bag a.k.a. "the bag" online. Can someone post a link for the elusive magical bean bag?
P.S. Sunny and Bee now have a life time supply of Purigen. I can has used up Purigen?
I use Purigen, regenerate it in bleach/water solution and then rinse with water and soak in Prime. I use Stress Coat Plus as my declorinator in the tanks.
The reason I use Prime to soak it after regenerating (and not Stress Coat) is because Prime doesn't use amine based polymers so no concern that it will bind to the chlorine and produce chlorimine. Using Stress Coat as my tank water dechlorinator doesn't seem to have any ill effects on it.
As for bags, I use pantyhose from Walgreens. 2 packs cost $1.00 and I can get 12 bags out of 2 pair. 12 bags for a dollar...can't beat that.
That's for people who have the money to burn. Instead of trashing it, please pass it on to me since I have the financial sense and the balls to recharge and reuse it!
+1. I've never, ever had any issues with recharged Purigen, and I bleach it right in "the Bag." Remember that if you're recharging with a high concentration of Prime, you may still smell bleach. I just wash it really really well in lukewarm water and do 2 Prime soaks over the course of 24 hours. That's my extra precaution, and I've never had any issues with residual bleach... which will dissipate itself anyway over time.
Y'all are putzes if you can't recharge Purigen. Q, let me have your castoffs dude. I'll pick up whenever you got some.

I realize I'm a bit late in the game, but I always just trash it when I'm done with it. I've recharged it before and soaked with prime, but it always still smells a bit like bleach when I'm done. Never trusted it, and it's cheap, so I just throw it in the gutter
