Tore the tank down to net fry and since there were no takers on the Holey rock I changed it up slightly. Will probably stuff all the rocks into a 4ft once my new rocks are brought home.

Not the best pictures but at least I cleaned some of the glass

I got a few of them a long time ago from Luis.....he got his pair out of the group and I took another pair that he had as well as a third that was uncertain but the female was pulled from a tank's overflow so she was barely making it when I got it and myjohnson took the uncertain which was probably a male since the one in the vid whooped on it.

I posted a thread about him looking for a lady friend but got zero replies......He is also the reason for me wanting to get the 4 from tattoo in hopes of a mate.

Yeah, I tend to be a believer of "survival of the fittest" as well....that's why I don't strip my females and I don't pull fry till I have to, also let the colony decide who stays and who goes.

As for fry....I start them at about $10 no need to be secretive about it but I do cut decent deals for bulk purchases which is what I push to sell since I think a colony is not a true colony unless there is at least 20+.

Just wondering , pm me how much are they going for these days. Can't wait till mine becomes a breeding factory like yours. One of my young Illangi's got jumped last night and I found it floating this morning when I came outside to feed. I guess it is definately survival of the fittest. Now I should be down to 34.

John, it's actually an Eretmodus Mkombe and it's only that white when it comes feeding time...usually a really dark gray with yellow tinted white bars....ask myjohnson since he has it's brother which is white all the time. THanks for the compliment!

Phung, Thanks for comp! I love how aggressive my Ilangi's are when they eat and how form a tornado of hungry mouths when food hits the water so I had to include it! As for fry....I cleared about 50 about a month ago and when I did I counted like 5-6 females holding and as soon as the old fry was out the females started to spit again, the best I could count I think there is about 30-50 with a few females still holding.

I think you are talking about the goby. It is a Tanganicodus irsacae. There aren't any white petros that I know of. But if there are, let me know!

I put egg crate on the bottom of all my tanks.

You could get away with not using it but I like the added security.

ek, do you have egg crates in that tank?  if not, did you just put the rocks on gravel/sand?  i was thinking on getting some rocks for my mix cichlid tank (55 gal), and i am scared that the glass will crack if i put anything heavy
