This won't be the last time these guys fight it out. The tricky part will be putting the two beat up ones back in the tank. I would bet they just get beat on again. Might be a good idea to put together a contingency plan.250gallon-Wild Angels, community

Remember..."Watch for death in the darkness. It can come fast. They get to bitting chunks out of each other." Newb is right about the challenge ahead. You might get some egg crate light defuser like you've seen in some of my pics. Cheap compared to BGs at Lowes or HD. Cut a piece to close off a corner and put them in there for a week or so before trying to reintegrate. Lets them see one another for a while without being able throw down. Has worked for me before to cut down on the "kill the stranger" effect.

Re: Petrochromis sp Blue Giant
Update on the fish:
Big momma is doing well in the 135 with Moliro, no meds for now. She's definitely not skittish like she was this morning.
Smaller male is pretty badly beat up but hanging in there. Just did a quick WC and added salt and metro. Hoping for the best. Going on how badly he's scuffed up, looks like whoever beat these too up, worked him over hard. Hoping for the best.
I rearranged the powerheads (4x 2400 gph + 1x 3200 gph) this morning before I went in my second shift. They look well behaved now. Hoping they stay that way.Last edited by SunnyHouTX; 03-01-2013, 07:30 PM.

I am glad to hear that they are still alive. I can't help you with the upside down swimming. Taking the rocks out of the tank worked well for me because its what I did when my red rainbows started getting crazy with aggression. Good luck and keep us posted.120g

Re: Petrochromis sp Blue Giant
Started treating the upside down catfish impersonator with Nitrofurazone to help fight any secondary infections hoping that it might help.
And I think there's another female BG holding... might be breeding season is in session which could explain the elevated aggression levels.
Thanks to Geral for the 1m/4f P. Famula Chimba, 1m P. Macro Kipili and 1m P. Kasumbe Halembe. Added them all to the BG tank to help dither the big blue fish.Last edited by SunnyHouTX; 03-05-2013, 01:03 PM.

Re: Petrochromis sp Blue Giant
Me too man. I didn't realize it, just saw that her belly was sunken in and vent was still a little swollen. She has not eaten for at least the last two days, but she keeps "chewing" every now and then on something so I'm assuming that she's holding.
The Kazumbe Halembe has settled in nicely as have the Famula Chimba. The little Macro Kipili will need some adjusting and food to get her up to speed.Last edited by SunnyHouTX; 03-03-2013, 01:25 AM.

Big tall plastic plants. I got some on line that were 30". Just couldn't get past the way they looked out of place to me, so didn't use them for long. I'd give them to you to try if I was close by. They looked nice, just not right in my brain in a Tanganyika tank.
