  • Re: Petrochromis sp Blue Giant

I agree on the not looking right part, but might have to overlook that for the benefit of the fish

The male has been upright since the afternoon when I checked on him then. Tenacious bugger he is!

Looks like the Epsom salt and Metro did the trick. Thanks to mistahoo for giving me the details on treating this condition with Epsom salt.

              • Congrats again. We're all in the learning boat! Seems like most of what I know was from trial and error or just simply overly researching through several forums although half the stuff on the net seems to be proven false more than once.

Well, if you read the last couple of pages you could have seen that the answer is yes.

But, the first female was ambushed so she spit and is now in the hospital along with another male who's in worse shape but recovering nicely.

Good new and bad news. Dropped the big female back in the tank and she's doing well (the other male is still in the hospital) but lost a 9.5" male overnight due to a nocturnal killer. Nothing I could have done for him given that he was well into rigor mortis already.
