not yet ...planning on making some egg tumblers soon, but it seems like with the change in weather the breeding has slowed down some.

                What temp is the tank?

                What temp is incoming water?

                My breeding has picked up.

                  temp in tank is ~80
temp of new water ~ cold as hell
probably the problem right there but i'd rather not use the water heater while filling the tank.

Yeah, most houses have copper lines when running hot water. Don't know the effects on fish. But get you a carbon bottle and you will be covered either way.

i'm already running a carbon snake , but i dont think carbon removes heavy metals.

Yeah, Nkondes had already stopped breeding when I added the 10 petros to the tank.

never thought about any of that...I have been filling my tanks with the water halfway hot and halfway cold...so that the tank normally sits at 80.3F...and after the water change the tank is usually at 77.8ishF...my breeding has also picked up lately...A LOT in the chimba tank. The breeding has gotten really busy after I added my Petros...I think it is cause the chimba stay under the rocks a lot more.

A number of people have reported on other forums that a big temp drop (-3 degrees) may help with breeding. They are hypothesizing that in the spring time colder water flows into the lake from rivers. This singles the fishes that it's spring and time to start spawning. I really have no idea one way or the other.
