          Sigh.

They're already absolutely beautiful fish. Why mess with that?

            Question

Dont all tropheus inbreed or crossbreed? I was watching a dvd that prove my point.

Over time the lake was not the current lake we see today. During the growth of the lake different group of tropheus was introduce to one another and some form of crossbreeding/inbreeding has to have happen.  There is not a pure tropheus.  Now what we have is several species that have some way morph into the different type of trophs on the market!

Kingfish on CF/Joey on TF had gotten an albino Ilangi from his colony.

I think what that DVD was trying to say is that the different variants were created to land barrier shifts and evolution......not overnight line breeding and man made hybrids.

Albino is a natural process...you cant stop that.

Plus the Kiriza may have been a crossbreed rather then man made

                        Not all Tropheus will inbreed.

There is several locations such as Bulu Point, and Karilani Island, where Duboisi, Poli, Moorii, and Brichardi all exist.

The annectens and Duboisi were even at the same depth.

During evolution or whatever one troph mated with a different one to produce whatever....You have to see the dvd to understand.

                            Re: Burundi Farms - Discussion

Lets say Albino is natural 1 out of 100,000

But when your keeping those and breeding them together to get 200 out of 100,000

Then keeping all those and inbreeding them to where your getting 1,000 out of 25,000

Then so and so on with the inbreeding until your getting Albinos with Albinos and getting 75% Albino Clutches with vaible fry...that is not natural

How do you know? We have how many types of Moorii on the market? Look at the Brichardi...All look the same execpt one or two features. How many Duboisi have been found? I think like 5 so far.
