Tropheus brichardi "Ujiji" - 150 gallon setup

On a interestesting note...these are the most skittish of all my Tropheus I keep.

They will not come out much with strangers hardly.

yeah, my mtoto have yellow eyes, too. they school really well and are a bit skittish, but not too too bad.

Interesting. Both the brichardi variants I had are kind of skittish also. I thought this was the cause of them schooling closer together.

You seen the formation at John's house and mine. The nanamsi are the tightest schoolers I have kept to date. I also thought it might be a way for them to survive in deeper waters.....but who knows.

I know that the mtoto had yellow rings around their eyes, instead of the blue found in most brichardi. But I also thought that's why they were spit off. I remember reading something about their proper name being changed to reflect that they are outside the brichardi sp. However, this has to be a smaller school of thought b/c most will agree that mtoto are in the barichardi family.
