    *BUMP*
Please keep it on topic....pool, ping pong (and tournaments thereon), alcohol consumption, and such
Seriously though....would anyone like to make collection a part of this meeting?

It's that time of year for another collecting trip !  bring your owne picknick basket and net.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I would like to go collecting down there. If others joined in a collecting trip that would be great seeing as I don't know the area very well.

Well, I would love to, but I'll be cutting it close as it is, because of Navarro's presentation later that afternoon.

We were thinking maybe to Cullinan Park for the collection part. It kind of depends upon rain between now and then.

                Howdy,

I think it would be good to keep an open mind and do some collecting if possible after the meeting.  We can plan on another collection trip this year.  I will have a rider so will not know how long I can stay.

I hope that several people can carpool together!

Jamjam Bill Allen is sending some fish and there might be some gambusia in the group?  Charles, Bill said today he was going to call you before he put fish in the mail to be deliverd to your store.

I plan on bringing daphnia cultures, plants, scud cultures with the hornwort, drift wood, glass shrimp, and what else I can roudup.

Could two people volunteer to bring refreshments, one for drinks and one for munchie food?

                later, ken

Re: June 28 HLA meeting/mini auction @ Fish Ranch

I thought I would talk about parking a bit. This is in the Historic Downtown area of Rosenberg, so parking on Saturday right in front of the shop (especially with the number of people we expect) might be at a premium. Just across Avenue H (Highway 90) on Third Street there is usually lots of parking available. All you have to do is come across at the crosswalk. Alternatively you could park on the next block (4th Street) which is not pictured below. Directions to the shop are as follows: From Houston take 59 South to Rosenberg and exit Highway 36. Make a right on 36. 36 becomes First Street as it nears downtown. Make a right on Avenue H (Highway 90). Two streets over is 3rd Street. The store is on the far left corner of 3rd and 90 (Ave H).  Hope this helps. Below is a map.

                      Charles,

Thank you for taking care of the drinks!  Gene said that he would bring the munchies.

I appreciate you brining up about the parking with great suggestions.

Do we need to bring lawn chairs or something to sit on inside the shop?  I will bring the two tables I usually bring for the auction items.

We will need some volunteers that day to help the auciton move along quickly!  Later, ken

                        Ken,

We plan to be there.  I can bring some extra lawn chairs and will volunteer to help with the auction.  Maybe even go on the collecting trip.  That sounds like fun.

                          To all:
Bring something to sit on if you need it. I have yet to install the theater style seating!
The collection trip will somewhat depend on rain between now and then. The more rain the better for where I was thinking.
Tables for auction items I don't have either...so any help in that regard is good. Because I remember the last "mini" auction we had! There is a great place within walking distance for food after the meeting as well (Bob's Taco's)....or you might decide to tour the Railroad Museum just down the street. Just trying to help everyone get more bang for their respective gasoline buck.

Who is planning on being at the HLA auction and what are you bringing?  I plan to bring guppies, crypts, java moss and java fern.
