Well, I guess Brian wasn't pulling my leg, the nice looking Leleupe was gone this afternoon when I went there. The store is looking much better, still a little work/time needed for the salt water section, but the rest of the shop is coming along nicely.

Jon is really nice, and gave me a great deal on a couple of 5 spot cichlids, and some freshwater mysis shrimp. I saw fishboyt and his father in there this afternoon, and as always, it was nice seeing those two again.

If you get a chance, take a drive up to 8714 Jones Road, in the Jersey Village area of NorthWest Houston, and check out the place.

Did you see the fish in the tank near where the 5 spot cichlids where at the end of that little strip of tanks? It looked like a mutant plakat betta!  8O

I am not sure...I was just scanning the tanks quickly, not paying too much attention to the inhabitants....I don't think I did....??

those five spot cichlids, are tilapia Mirnae!  i used to have a large male check out this link 8)

Yep, that's them, nice looking fish, I see they prefer neutral water hardness and a bit cooler water tempetures, than the tank they are in now, I'll have to keep an eye on them and see how they respond to their new environment...

After watching their progress, I was glad to go by yesterday. Was even happier to see a good looking LFS And the guys running the place were incredibly nice. Which in and of itself is worth the visit.

The salt section looks  like it's going to be good.

They said they were going to be getting in more fresh water fish. I saw that huge gourami. WOW that guy has a lot of personality. Wish I had a tank big enough. I stood their and wagged my finger at him and he did a wild dance that made me think he was going to climb out and run for the door.

I'll be definitely going back to give this store my business.

I went by Aquatic World on Sunday by chance and caught the grand opening!  The place is not all together yet but I was surprised to find that the new owner is John(Jon?) from Global!  I had great experiences with him in the past when I dabbled in SW tanks.  He took a lot of time to chat with me and then handed me off to another nice guy (didn't get his name) who helped me with some Koi food.. and gave me a great deal.  I well remember the people who used to run the place.. I had to bother them in order to try and give them business...  What a great change!

I am tempted to go its a far drive for me but I used to live in the apartments across the street and remember going to that place twice and that was it. It was a complete dump and the workers were horrible.
