sorry for the delay. I have been tied up and still trying to see what I am going to use and keep. Right now it looks as if I will only have the big single bio-chamber wet/dry. I thought that the single was a bigger unit but was mistaken. I will be using the dual on my 265g for the moment at least. Please forgive me as I dont mean to waste your time.
There is no "normal" life, it's just life so get on with it.
think the 29 is a long. just left the house and can get measurements later if you like.
James??? dude?? I said make a fair offer....$150 your kidding right or are you trying to insult me. This is the problem with trying to be nice. Some people just try to push the envelope. Tell you what for you today only.... the price is special..only $899 free delivery included. (offer expires midnight and price goes up / delivery is with in a 15 mile radius of Humble.$7 per mile charge after that)
I am not hurting for cash...I dont need to sell anything really. Just taking up space. If you need something I have...make a serious offer and we will go from there. Otherwise dont waste my time.

"think the 29 is a long. just left the house and can get measurements later if you like."
Hey kool, when you get the chance, i know your busy. If it turns out to be long let me know for the 20 or 29, measurements would be kool to calculate space, lol. Let me Know...
I don't really go along with that rule of thumb, as far as the pricing goes. It sounds good as a benchmark, but at some point, it can get away from actual or acceptable cash value of a tank.
I have two 110's at home now, and both of them are worth more than 110.00 to me anyway. It's depends on wether the tank is in good condition, fair condition, all scratched up, whatever.
I would not sell either one of my 110's for 110.00, I would not sell either one for under 200.00.
just my 2 cents.

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.
I believe the 1.00 / gallon rule belongs to tanks less than 75... anything 75 and over, you need to think $1.25... Anything 135g and over you need to think $1.75/g
+$25 for RR (per unit installed) ie 2 (one in each corner or like a double center drilled = $50)
Tops should go for 1/2 cost of new for tops
Multiply everything what you would call the beauty factor. This is where the hard part comes in.
Perfect tank = 100%
Holds water but when empty its so white from scratches you cannot see though the tank ~60% ????
Here are my examples...
Perfect 180RR with tops should be (315)*100%+50+30 = 395
Same Tank scratches, the tank isnt clean etc... I prolly would look at it as (315)*85%+50+30 = ~348
Maybe I am a little more generous... or less generous... who knows.. Some people I know uses the foot print to determine the tank value.. ie the longer the tank the more money...

people can ask an arm and a leg for there used tanks but they never sell . i think it is an insult to ask some one to pay that much for a used tank. personal value and what the tank cost new has nothing to do with what it's worth used. i have bought and sold used tanks many times and i have never been able to get more then $200 for a 110g non-rr in 80% condition , and even priced like that it don't fly off the shelf. people that get offended because they did not like the offer they received have issues, you can simply say no thanks im looking to get at least X amount of money for this tank. IMO any one that pays $500 for a used 110 with stains and scratches is a sucker or don't know any thing about buying/selling used tanks. i though my offer was generous and far from insulting.
