Do you ever get into the Houston area?

OK, he does not look as bad I thought he would.  I was expecting exposed flesh and fins shredded to the base.

What is in the tank with him?  Maybe someone is picking on him.

3 long faced loaches that never come up out of the sand (once a month maybe) an opiline gourami that stays hidding underneath stuff and a blind cave tetra....some snails and 1 inbred little platty.  Had a guppy (yes, just 1) but one of the snails ate him yesterday (ate him like a burrito)

he doesn't look like he is getting picked on, but I don't know what happens when the lights go out.  looks more like he's peeling (like we do when sunburned)

Long-nosed loaches do have the potential of nipping at slow moving fish. This may be happening at night when the lights are out. Long-nosed loaches are those that resemble a horse-faced loach, but have a slightly stiffer body and are more silvery than light brown in color. Are these the loaches you have Lucy?

JGUERRA, what kind of eels you own? I currently have 3 river eels in with my climbing perch and bichirs that I got from Fondren Fish'N'Pets.

They are long-nosed loaches....but I'm not sure they are nipping at him but I cna't really rule that out either...if they are piciking at him then they are very good at hitting the exact same spot....for 8 months :? .  When I get to see the loaches, they don't really show much interest in the other fish.  But I have noticed the dollar will move to the top front of the tank when the lights go out.....the rest of the time he stays in the mid to bottom level behind his plants and fake stump.

not that bad...no red streaks or open sores and he has part of his bottom fin left...I have a horrible image of what your image must have been, skin sloughing off everywhere and nubs where fins were....if that were the case, I would have to explore the euthanasia option....glad he isn't bad like that.
