Hey I'm just running a temp sump as of now to cycle the tank It's a clear rubbermaid with live rock and filter floss. Going with a 29 gallon tank as a refugium. Once its done I will make the transfer and take a pic of it when I am off work.Originally posted by New_Cichlid11 View Postwhat equipment are u running to filter the tank? congrats on taking the salt leap...I've been keeping fres for 20+ years, did salt once and it didn't go well. But I was too young and didn't have the $$$ or knowledge to do it correctly. I'm thinking about doing it again. Good luck.
Something I noticed though...your DIY scares me a little though... If I can make a suggestion. You need to add a couple of verticle 2x4's between the top and bottom horizontal 2x4's to get the weight off the screws. This makes the wood the load support not a few screws.
Here's a picture.

Yea I was short on on 2x4s so i added some metal brackets to beef it up. Once tank is establish I don't know how long a 40 will last me before an upgrade might have to knock the dust off another tank I have collecting dust.Figure I start small and lose small.Originally posted by kewlkatdady View Postcongrats on taking the salt leap...I've been keeping fres for 20+ years, did salt once and it didn't go well.
