Kalk will get the Ca and Alk. But you still may need to dose those if your levels arent right because of absorption and what not. But you still need to dose Mg

So far my level are doing great (pre established water) so I know how things are in the water. I'll watch it a bit more because with the added volume from the sump it might throw something off here and there.Originally posted by Darbex View PostKalk will get the Ca and Alk. It's by caribsea. I got it pre- established from a guy selling it. It's very corus. Like its more pebbles more then anything . I think it was the Hawaiian mix but they stopped making it. They have the Tahiti fine mix which I should have gotten and looks a lot better. Only thing I don't like black is that some pieces of the sand is magnetic so I cant use a magnetic algae scraper and I have to check my return weekly to make sure none is in my pump. I was thinking of replacing it because of this. I do like however that you can basically use this as a frag substrate. If a piece of corals grows or falls on it you can just take that piece of pebble and you got yourself a frag!
I'll update pictures in a bit because it looks a lot better then the ones above

Tank update! So I decided to keep the tank after all because money is coming in good now and a talk with my new lady
(this one like all of the hopla we pull them through and likes reptiles too
) so far the tank has been running smoothly even though it's a bit overstocked (2 clowns, 1 damsel, 2 firegobies) but, the skimmer is taking care most of that thank God. Added a JBJ viper 150 watt and now all of my corals are popping and makes me question on which route of corals I should take now. I do fancy LPS but, SPS is seeming to catch my eye now.
