Here is a little update. I planted some marcos in the back of the tank. I'm picturing a bush of marco behind the rock piles and fill the rocks with zoas, rics, and GSP.

This type of macro also grows decent. I might change my mind and remove it later. Just depends on how it fills up the tank.

How big is this tank??? 750 is quite a bit, you could build a killer led fixture way cheaper and get the same results. I have some led knowledge gimmie the tank dims and i could help you a bit. For my 2.5 gallon i did an led fixture with a 20k color that sustained sps. Not hard, and much cheaper than the cool looking elos....

The elos light is cash money. Normally runs $750 brand new! But the bulbs last around 13 years so the upfront cost is covered down the road.
There are a lot of DIY ones out there. But honestly, for the workmanship the prices are comparable. Each light bulb already cost like 8-12 bucks depending on which kind you get and their are controllers and heater sinks too.

led is the way to goOriginally posted by myjohnson View PostTwo 6700k bulbs 36w each, which are old and what I used for my planted tank when I had this light over that.
I have a brand new 10k and an attenic bulb that I didn't put in the fixture yet. I figure I'll do it when I get some corals.
I sould be upgrading the light soon too. Just can't decide what I want...

Thanks MB!Originally posted by Mzungu View Post

But seriously, Thai, I think it looks great. It's gonna look awesome with some GSPs if you decide to do that. (I think you should!)
Still debating if I should get with all GSP, zoas, or macros.
But yeah, a carpet of all GSP would look nice, IMO!
