Thanks for all the feed back. I would do rodi system but my reason for not doing it is that it ran my family's water bill from 100$ to 300$, it's because we have poor water pressure.

Water pump is a good advice.
But lower water pressure only means it takes a long time to make your water.

$200 difference is a lot.
Are you sure you hook it up right?
If you hook it up wrong, it could run all the time.

If you make 100 gallons of RO/ DI water a month and you reject 90%, that means 900 gallons of waste. It can't cost that much.

I had 4 nanos last week all around 5ml, didn't keep them very long though...

Oh and as a side note, a 26gal is definitely not a nano tank. Most consider nano tanks to be 5gal and under. Some may say 10gal and under.

On a high end system I might until its running. But after that no use. I didn't test my nano.

I just pour water and add fish.

I don own any test kits and many new hobbyist don't know about it yet you always find giant fish needing new homes.


Fill that tank and post pictures.

On a FOWLR system carbon filtered tap is fine. You shouldn't have to check params on your tank after its going. I never check params after the first couple of weeks.

Using tap will definitely give you some sort of algae problem. If its for a fowlr i think you'll be fine, as long as you don't mind some algae.

I have seen tap work with FOWLR system, but the keeper was constantly battling algae. I imagine with the correct livestock and lighting it could be better managed and possibly eliminated. It will just take time and research.

You've already decided against ro/di so the only other option is tap.

Ive used tap though im on a well system sustained everything ok just always battled some sort of algae outbreak till i switched to ro/di now just normal cleaning of glass
