1. an undulate trigger is the meanest thing on the planet. Don't get one if you want to have any other fish.

2.do some research on putting multiple tangs in the same tank. Your tank is big, but not that big, and tall to boot. There might be some issues there.

Been on it. I am not going to worry about Triggers. But I will be adding the Sohal and Achilles as the last of all the fish and will only get young ones so they can learn.

I found my Tang its called a Sohal Tang. This thing is a beast. There is a video of a small one fighting a clown trigger and a large Niger Trigger for food. In case you dont know clown and Niger triggers are the most aggressive triggers.

I was wondering if the one you were working on the ID for was a Sohal tang. Absolutely gorgeous fish. . . fighting a clown trigger? That must have been one nasty fish. I've heard undulateds were the worst of the more commonly found triggers, followed by clowns, but that's anecdotal. I had some decent sized humu-humus and nigers that weren't that bad. I like eels, too, but those darn things always end up on the floor.

I hope I get the chance to see this tank. It sounds like it is going to be awesome.

If you are getting a lionfish, then you shouldn't get a trigger, they will pick on the lion.

Interesting I guess its like everything else just depends on the environment and the fish you get. Well I am not going Trigger anyways so no worries. Thanks for the post.

Not a problem. I was thinking about doing a tank with a lion and trigger that video was what my research turned up. Good luck on the tank can't wait to see picks when it's up.

A friend from Moody Gardens has a chunk of her ear missing from a 5-inch clown trigger... Guess I would call that anecdotal evidence.

Fish Gallery had an undulate for a while, just ask anyone who works there about that little turd.

Also, it's hard to tell in that lighting from the video, but it somewhat looks like a blue-line trigger... which is #3 on my list of turds in the punchbowl we call triggers.

Niger trigger is fine with the lion.

I have a Volitan Lionfish, Niger Trigger, Panther Grouper, and Dogface puffer in the same tank, No problems.

Looks clean. I would go taller since you tank has plenty of depth.
