I don't like the high gas prices any more than I did in 2008 but do you notice how different the conversations are this time? Or lack there of.

I have heard a little bit of "Big Oil" bashing but not nearly as much, and NO blaming the Pres like in 2008.

What gives? It's like CF, Darbex and myself are the only people who are consistent. Certainly that can't be right?

It is 3.61 here in college station and I hope, It does not go above 4.00. I plan on going to my beach house in kitty hawk, North Carolina at the end of July. I worked out gas and It is going to cost me around 750.00$ in gas to get there and back in a ford Taurus............. pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Don't sprain your shoulder pattin' yourself on the back, Charles. Everyone wasn't blaming Bush. The same reasons that oil went up last time apply... the people who buy and sell the futures want more money. The same lame excuses have been given for the past month; "nervousness" over what's goin' on in the middle east happens to be my favorite. Incidentally, where are these oil-fueled power plants? Did Japan have them sitting around idle just in case?

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

"Everyone wasn't blaming Bush." Your right but most people were. I changed my stance Charles I now blame Obama for the oil prices.

Doesn't the president get blamed for everything pretty much no matter who it is?

I'm thinking the $5.43 prediction may be spot on. I'm not tremendously worried when it comes to driving my vehicle, because I do the bulk of my driving to work and back and then a couple of short trips or one big one on the weekend. That way, if I want to make a trip to Galveston or up to Spring, I'm at least being conservative about it. I've had to make some creative plans to make sure I'm not just out driving around trying to get things done. If it gets too bad, I'll carpool with my co-worker and split the cost, and with the Randall's going in on the corner plus the Walgreen's, I could just walk or hit those stores for anything I need on the way home. I was worried about the dog being able to get out and run, but I can take her to my friends' house, which is on the way to work, a couple of times a week (or take her to the dog park near their place when I visit). She can run all day in their backyard with their dog, instead of me taking her on a special trip to the park (in addition to our regular walking schedule, of course).

I didn't blame Bush when it happened last time (and they were talking $4+ at that point, which was right before everything tanked back home, so we would have been at this point 3 years ago), but explaining that to others, who knew of the ties both he and Cheney had to oil companies, was a chore. I recall reading a government report from sometime during the Bush Administration (I want to say it was released maybe in 2007 or 2008, but commissioned earlier) that stated that even if the oil deposit in ANWR (Alaska) were as large as the one in Prudhoe Bay (the largest deposit found), it wouldn't affect price here in the U.S. How much oil is there in the Gulf in relation to our yearly or daily consumption? Also, I'm curious to know if we're already utilizing the current drilling areas to a proper efficiency? Part of me believes that there has been a focus on Obama for other policies, or other things going on politically (there are some sketchy things going on in Michigan. . . I need to read more on them), that this has kind of been ignored. I suspect that it won't be for much longer.

It would be great to keep the money domestically. . .

I'll be honest, too, I don't understand the vitriol about gradually switching to a renewable resource, especially if it can be cleaner (there are links of smog to asthma attacks and coal-burning plants to water pollution). It may be expensive and inefficient at first, but that's why it's a good idea to progress the technology, so that it is ready when it is needed. Produce everything here, and you're 100% independent energetically. Is it because oil companies, particularly here in Texas and Alaska, are so economically entrenched? Seems to me it would be prudent for states so invested in oil to be at the forefront of cutting edge technology, to be ready. Again, I'm not riling anyone up. I'm asking so I can understand a different perspective.

I'm not riled, I'm sure it's all related to the NWO....I don't blame Bush or Obama, they merely follow orders like the majority of politiicans do....This country is under attack from within....destroy it's economy and the rest will be easy.....get your food/water/ammo stores collected folks....
