Wow. So now you're going to play the "I have no idea what Jackson could have been implying, because people like the Jews and the Chinese were slaves too once upon a time too" card?

That's the bottom of the bucket in weak rebuttals. There's nothing to be made about race in this thread, because this thread was started about race. You're the one trying to turn it into a basketball discussion.

I'm just gonna put it out there. I've spent my entire adult life trying to implement what my parents taught me as fairness towards all. I've also spent the last ten years over coming the stereotypes of Blacks in majority Black communities and helping them however I can via my job. I've spent the last two years being told by every local news channel that I'm just another racist, sexist, white man who's got a VIP membership to the Good Ol' Boy club.

Well, I'M SICK OF IT. I'm sick of people like Jesse Jackson cowardly calling anyone who does anything that he doesn't approve of a racist. That's what this thread is about. I try my hardest to treat everyone equal, not stereotype, and no matter how poor they look, how dark their skin, or how bad the accent, I still say yes sir and ma'am. I still hold the door open for them, I still pick up something valuable the don't know they've dropped and give it back to them.

I'm just sick and tired of people like Jackson going unchecked. People like him do more damage to our society than any political party ever will. All his words do are alienate those of us who are trying to get along with everyone not like us while making everyone not like us suspicious of us really hating them. We end up spending all day sizing each other up instead of just living and its tiring. I hope Gilbert sues him for slander and takes him to the cleaners.

So that's where I stand on the subject and why I started this thread. In my opinion Jesse Jackson is purposefully destroying our attempts at a unified society, all in the name of greed.

Well if you are sick of it stop double standard yourself. You either _______ or ________! You should not judge based on skin color, income, nationality. Do for others as you would want done to you.

So if Jesse is doing more damage to our society what is Rush , Beck, Hannity and Palin doing.

Honestly, i'm sick and tired of people like you and others on here crying about every freaking thing. Yet, no one stepped to the table and said hey let's sit down and discussed this and work to try to solve this problem so the world can be a better place!

            NO NADA NOPE

"He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers," the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. "His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honored his contract."

Gilbert saw his superstar gone so would his cash! Now since Z have left to join Lebron is Gilbert going to say the negative stuff in public about him?

Honestly, I go back to the Slave and Master thing. Maybe it's just me knowing that whites, blacks, Asians and Mexicans were slaves here in the US in the 1800 to 1900's. Maybe, it's the general analogy that was used but it's amazing how some people took offense to it as racism.

So I guess Imus was ok for calling the girls Nappy headed hoes!

Considering I started the thread, I think I know pretty well where my head is at and what the subject matter being discussed is. If I wanted to talk about James and his career decisions I would have started a thread stating as such and done it in the Lounge.

List examples of what they've said that is as bad as Jackson in your opinion and we'll discuss it. You mention Imus, and I'll tell you that yes, he was wrong. You'll never catch me saying he wasn't.

As for my crying, that is exactly what I'm not doing. You just don't seem to like the format so you first try to change the subject. Then when I refuse to fall in line with the topic change, you make accusations that I, myself, need to stop being a hypocrite, stop whining, and to actually do something - instead of actually discussing the content matter, which is exactly what I'm trying to do.

Jesse Jackson is an extortionist. A Team Owner is upset with an Employee who left his team when his contract was up. This is about two men who disagree on the outcome and end of a business deal and it does not have anything to do with Jesse or racism.

What Race Baiting, extortionist Jesse Jackson saw was another opportunity to incite anger in the Black community to extort money from a White Businessman. That's what Jesse Jackson does. He makes BS racist comments, gets the Black community angry with false claims so the "White Man" will pay him to stop. Jesse is a racist bully.

This is what I thought this thread was about.
All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.

What did Jackson extort from this? Apparently David Stern felt Gilbert was wrong and find the Cavs $100,000 for his letter. Remember one thing..The employee was a free man. He had the right to do whatever.

He didnt fine him for being a slave owner. He fined him because Stern thought the letter went over board. And the NBA never fined anyone frivously? What about fining Van Gundy and Yao? Jackson is trying to extort press. He hasnt been in the news lately so what a perfect way. And who knows he may just try to shake down the Cavaliers for money.

I think Gilbert handled it poorly as well...

                        But...

What the F business is any of this for Jessie "The Extortionist" Jackson? And how is he gonna compare this to a Slave/Master situation and not be a racist thug?

The same can be said about Gilbert. The contract was honor and James left.

Most employment contracts I have worked with have a renewal clause. We already know that Gilbert was trying to renew the contract. That's what makes it Gilbert's business. But I agree with you, Gilbert acted like a little B**ch when James decided to go to Miami.

That said, I still want to know WTF business it is of Jesse's and why his Thug, Racist Punk A$$ needed to bring up Master/Slave BS.

Your 100% right. I just disagree with what Jackson said on principle. I thought it was uncalled for and it struck a nerve with me.
