—Synonyms
1. narrow-mindedness, bias, discrimination.
In this very thread thekarens while telling of her experiences with bigotry dismissed my post because of my gender and the color of my skin then labeled me with a term meant to marginalize me as an individual which displayed intolerance of my belief and opinion because it differed from hers. Bigotry! All men are created equal but his choices determine his value and what's in his heart determines his worth.
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"

Why did people elect a man solely on his skin color and not the principles he believes in. There were several tests where people said Obama believed in ideas that McCain did and a bunch of people in colored neighborhoods said yes I agree with that but when they were told that they just agreed to what McCain stood for they got all upset and then came forward with the truth that they didnt know anything about politics and just wanted a black man to be president. D it goes both ways both are not right but it happens so please dont single out one side of the coin.Originally posted by Delock View PostWhy is a person skin color a factor?
I see and hear alot about our President. How people want to kill him. How this and that. But, I sit back and wonder what would be said if his skin color contain less pigmentation.
I used to wonder how people see me being who I am in this hobby. Honestly, when I see others I see a person and not a skin color. Really everyone is somewhat lucent to me. The positive you are the more lucent you become. Negative then you will fade out.
So really why does skin color plays part in today society? And don't pussy foot around the question either. Your answer will not make me feel any different from you because I already know how most really feel

There are plenty of blacks who are just as racist against whites as the other way around. I have had friends who tell me there family and parents are totally racist but its the way they were brought up. As if its ok for blacks to be racist and not whites. Neither is ok. Racism exists its what you do with it that defines you. I mean I am a complete mix of races but I dont let that bother me. I grew up going to a white school in which my High School was maybe 15% colored. I have to live with a constant assumption that I am Mexican when I am not even remotely connected. I have been able to break down every racial barrier by my attitude and my will power. I went to college and did not take any race based scholarships or grants because I wanted to prove it wasnt about that. I feel honestly that reverse discrimination is taking place and the policies to enforce a certain race is no longer needed in this country.

Race matters to everyone that got common sense.
example: if I live near a low income community which is populated with a certain race (white, black, brown, or yellow) and they are known to commit crimes in broad day light....guess what?
When I see a dude of that certain color, I have to ask myself....is this dude about to jack me up?
People with common sense are aware of there surroundings.I ate my fish that died.

This old tired discussion...
I personally think MOST of us are racist to a certain extent. I was raised in a very racist family. My parents can't stand 90% of the Mexicans in the world. Id like to say that their views didn't rub off on me completely but that's just not the case...if its any consolation...i kind of like Chris...lol.If it ain't wild caught
You ain't doing it right
