A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have. --Thomas Jefferson
Guns are responsible for killing people much the way pencils are responsible for misspelling words.
i always prefer to think of the possitive. Like Tracy said, we keep discovering new things that are helpful, no matter what anybody has tried to do, like kill in the name of one god or another. so i like the idea of research for a good reason, versus for a distructive one.

well if the road to destruction, or as the original line says hell, is paved with good intentions, and you get there with bad intentions. then you arent leaving room for any option other then we are completely screwed, and i refuse to think that. its like the similar argument that hunting is bad. sorry just because you buy the meat from the grocers doesnt mean its any less cruel to kill that animal then another, and from a conservation standpoint hunters donate or spend more money on keeping the critters they like to hunt around then any conservation group. so if some people are trying to discover new means of say, powering the planet not using fossil fuels, or discovering more about where the universe developed, i say more power to them, because as things are, that is incurable diseases/mass genocides/wars of false rightousness/and the land of the free becoming the land of terror and hatred(slight exageration but let me run with it). It almost makes you wish for cleansing of Zombie takeover preportions. I mean what are you going to do about the problems out there, do you spend extra on you power bill to get green energy, or maybe own a solar powered car, that doesnt use gas, or maybe just use Power compact bulbs to decrease energy use. all of those small inovations took someone with an idea to discover. stop discovering and you may as well go live in a cave and give up fish tanks, because someone had to discover how to use a magnetic impellor to power your filters for your fish tanks, and once-a-pon a time the idea to communicate without seeing someone (ie the interenet) or similar things that we do everyday thanks to technology, would be the talk of Magic and Witchcraft, and get you burnt at the stake of worse. and i rather like my fish tanks over burning people at the stake thank you very much, so i vote for discovery. Besides Shark week is just plain cool.

I'll go along with exploration and using science to find new technologies and or discoveries, but after reading the article, it seems like there is a legitimate chance of having this contraption back fire on them. Granted, according to the report, the risk is minimal, I am still not too sure the risk is worth the possible consequences in this case. But then again, maybe I am being overly concerned here lately.

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.
