Great thread.
I plan on buying surf fishing equipment real soon.
I always fish the flounder run at seawolf in the fall but am looking to expand on that.

I fish the seasons. Different seasons require different techniques and places to fish. My favorite all time spot is surf fishing when the north winds flatten the surf and allow the green water to come in. My favorite Galveston Bay System is West Galveston Bay.Originally posted by Ogrodii View PostSo what would you say are the top 2 spots if you had to choose

North Jetty is a good place.. Freeport pier is good at night... wade fishing at Texas City is good, San luis pass is good on the back side where you can wade... slide your feet so you dont step on a sting ray

Yup. If the current is too strong it'll drag your bait until it hangs on something. Best to get the bait out as far as possible and when reeling the bait back in do it fast to keep it off the bottom. It comes through trial and error. Each day is different.

I'm right down the road from here, I'll have to try this out. Many handups on the bottom?

Park on Seabrook side. Walking west takes u to marina but you'll see the road that leads to the channel right before entrance into marina. I've caught 50lbers out there.

Park on the Seabrook side or the Kemah side? Walking west will take you into the boat marina right?

Yes. The big Kemah bridge that separates Webster from Kemah. You can park under that bridge and walk west towards that Marina and walk all the way down that path. It used to be a railroad track. Good fishing at the end of it.

The bridge by the boardwalk?Originally posted by moganman View PostYou could park under the 146 bridge and walk the old railroad track that runs parallel to the bridge. Plenty of reds, black drum, and hangups!!!!! Long walk but that channel is swarming with fish. Go to protides.com and look at the tides for Clear Lake, Texas. Fish when the water is moving. I prefer outgoing, but incoming is good too.
