Has anyone tried wade fishing further west of Galveston? As in the state park/Jamaica beach and before surfside? How's the fishing there?

I always here of people going out there to catch 6ft sharks.

you could always go to Matagorda and hit the beach there... you can drive down the beach a couple of miles and fish with not a soul around

Do you want to bay fish or surf fish. I my self like to fish the state park on the bay side. There is a cut going in to Jam.Beach. I have done well there. But haven't fished there in years. We have a place in Sargent now.

I was thinking about going to galveston this week can anyone recommend a good day to go and a nice place to fish that doesn't have too many people? I normally go to sea wolf park but I want to try other places.

Anyone have any luck at 18 street pier? I've been there once but didn't have much luck, probably because weather wasn't good that day. A couple co-workers like going there.

I didn't get to go today because things came up. I wish I could go fishing more often, but I don't like to go fishing alone. People I know aren't interested in fishing as I am lol.

Watch out for the weather, it has picked up out here (20-25mph winds) and 6-8' seas. Forecast looks the same till Tuesday...
