    The reason they are legal up north and not down here is strictly the difference in our winters. People down here will get them, not want them anymore, and let them go in our natural waterways. This causes problems by introducing an invasive species and disrupting our native fishes habitats. Up north if you let them go, the winters alone will kill them, thus not causing any concern. Look it up, people have caught Piranhas here locally in the past.

      +1 and Bowfins are a lot cooler! I've been wanting one for a while now.

        LOL We used to catch these things all the time out at Day Lake. These thing are NASTY! If I had a big tank over 200 gallons, I would do a native tank with one of these as the centerpiece.

            Type in Day Lake Texas in the Google bar and a map will pop up with it. It is just south east of Dayton. I fun little lake to go fishing in with lots of neat little native fish. Sunfish, Perch, Longears, Crappie, etc.
