Re: PETA Investigates Petsmart
as long as they didnt say they were there to investigate for peta it is no too hard to get a job at petsmart, especially if you have any pet knowledge. interesting enough in a list of demands that PETA sent to PEtsmart, they didnt comment at all on the care of the fish. all they wanted was for petsmart to stop selling birds/small animals/and reptiles. what i find interesting is that all of our animals and i believe most of the fish(including bettas) are captive bred. most rodents have alife expectancy in the wild of less then a year (predators and all) but ones in captivity can live sometimes 3 plus (for hamsters thats a long time)
I remmember reading ina BASS magazine a long time ago about a PETA member protesting a fishing competition of BASS. this fishing organization was basically the group that started catch and release and sport fishing a in fishing just for fun and throwing the fish back. and an oranization that likes to use barbless hooks. Notice PETA isnt going around the world and telling little fishing villages that what they do is wrong. but massive overfishing is occuring around the world why isnt anyone focusing on that instead of captive bred hamsters. im not saying that there are not problems and we need to work on them but the hobbiest is often the one leading the care and campaign about captive breeding so fewer animals need to be taken from the wild. and the hunter is one of the most adamant protectors of the animals he hunt because he wants that to be there for his childrens's children.
