Speaking for myself I don't feel bad about funding the Astros or Rockets ballpark and stadiums. Both of those owners actually put forth a championship or competive team in good faith. Houston spoke loud and clear on those referendums. The simple message was; that if you commit with your money and effort to winning we will gladly support you. If you' don't, well Bud Adams can tell you how that goes

Drayton and Les have done the same thing but Houston caved in because of the lessons learned from the Oilers. Houston wasnt fit they had to spend nearly a billion dollars to get a new team here. Astros and Rockets both threatened to leave Houston if they didnt get new stadiums but they are good guys and Bud is bad. The city tried to call Buds bluff but he wasnt bluffing.

That jacka$$ had them rip out the huge display scorebaord in the dome for 10,000 more seats when he couldn't sell out the 60,000 he already had. That man is deserving of all Houstonians hatred. I will bottom line it for you. Speaking for myself I am just happy to have a team in my hometown to call my own. I will support them regardless of record or potential. As far the talk show junkies trashing their play; you have to call a spade a spade. If their performance is lackluster I will say so, all the while remaining their fan and hoping for their suces

??? I'm not a Cowboys fan? Dude I have been a Cowboys fan forever. So I guess I wasted all those year of rooting for them. show doubt in romo? The Cowboys are not just about Romo its offense, defense, special teams and more. Not sure where you where you coming from with that.

Houston was held hostage and rightfully refused to give in. The entire reason he demanded the removal of the scoreboard was to show up the city in an attempt to prove that Houston could not support an NFL team. Although we had enough talent to make the playoffs year after year he refused to spend money to get the one or two players needed to get to the next level. He strategically plotted his exit and Houston refused to pay his ransom. Good riddance Bud and may you may never win a Superbowl!!!

Hey Houston the city was just at fault for the Oilers departure as Bud Adams. All he wanted was a new stadium as the dome was getting old.

No worries, Gene. My post wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular. It was more directed at folks who think you have to goose-step to the "I Love My Team And Please Kill Me If I Ever Utter A Word Of Dissent" song that so many seem to have bookmarked in their IPODs.

Even back in the very lean years of the 70s and 80s, I was a staunch supporter and watched every game I could. I really miss the Tom and Tex years.

I'm a lifelong Cowboy's fan, from back in the days of Roger Staubach, Walt Garrison and Bob Hayes. That doesn't mean I can't be critical of players, staff and the owner when I feel it's warranted. I also don't need anyone's approval as to whether I'm a "real" fan or not. Does one have to blindly love Romo and think he's the best thing since sliced bread just because he's a Cowboy? By that logic, every Dallas fan that crticized that pass-droppin' idiot T.O. should hand in his star. Get real...

Man, I plan my day around to listen to Calvin Murphy. I remember back in the days when Calvin use to call the games for the Rockets. Those two championship years! I think they still can't fine a real replacement for him. To bad he got sued and fired......

There are no doubt D fans that dont like Romo my friend is one of them. But the whole arguement he turns it over in big games isnt truthful he does turn it over in some big games but what about the big games he doesnt. And if that holds a team from going or winning a super bowl then you should tell Favre to give his back. Romo plays very similar to Favre for better or for worse.

[QUOTE=myjohnson;417843]Depends on who you talk too. I listen to both 610 AM and 97.5 FM and I remember those seasons when the Boys were sub .500. There were people calling talking about not being a cowboy's fan anymore.

I just thought it was funny that sumper was talking all that noise one week (when the Boys won) and his quiet like a mouse this week (when the Boys lost).

p.s. every team that wins is going to cause a bandwagon affect.
Yeah but these would be Houston people talking about the boys. When I lived in Austin during those times I dont remember it but I could be wrong.

    thai

    so you miss me, thanks

i've been extremely busy at work, making

working 12-14 hours daily non-stop for about two weeks now

rather tired , but cant' complain the money is awesome

not most can say that during these tough times, when i see many of my friends struggling with layoffs, and other companies reducing the amount of hours they are working

a friend of mine at Halliburton, is barely making 32 hours a week, and they take 1 week off a month.

Very happy to be in this position.

Doesnt hurt that i work for probably one of the biggest companies in the world

On the cowboys, what a bummer,

Like Darbex said, they should have won, over 250 yards rushing. Giants had -6 yards rushing.

giants got very lucky on several scores,

    They didnt do much else.

But hey you cant win them all
