Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Well, I'm retired now, so I have more time for my hobbies.
            Computers & fish

But I used to design & program the control systems that keep the chemical plants from going boom, then I got into programing the machines that make the beer and put in in the bottles or wash the potatoes and make the potato chips.
I like that much better because you don't have to worry about what you step in or what drips on your head.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

              Re: what supports your hobby/hobbies?

My husband buys and sells buses and also parts them out.  He does pretty well at that and it enables me to be a stay at home pet mom to our 4 fish tanks, dog and bird.   So far I have a 10 gallon and 20 gallon tank with various tropical fish.  In the livingroom, I have the 110 gallon cichlid tank and in the office we just put in a 90 gallon tank for cichlids, but are finishing up the cycle process and don't have any cichlids in there yet.  I'm going this weekend to buy a Congo African Grey parrot.  I have a sweet little Cockatiel now and my dog is just about 16 months old and is a Pomeranian.  I so don't have room for any more fish tanks....... but if I did......  You all know the routine..... Gotta have more fish tanks!!

By the way, when we bought the 90 gallon..... Well...... we actually got a 70 gallon.  We bought it for the oak stand and replaced the new 70 with the 90.  So, I do have the 70 available for sale with the glass hood and light.  If anyone wants to offer me a fair price for this brand new tank, please let me know.  The brand is Ocean View.

              Hugs,
              Jaclin

Heh, what a funny thread idea, but your right, this stuff is expensive.

I work full time for the paper to "pay the bills"

But I sell used cars on the side to finance my hobbies. I don't feel 1/1000th as bad for spending $100 from the 'extra' job as I would from the 'real' job. Know what I mean?

                    Re: what supports your hobby/hobbies?

Jaclin, I'll start it off by offering $1

As for me, I work for a ancillary department at a large hospital as a Computer Geek.  Hardware/Software/Networking and occasionally windows....LOL.  Still, my budget is limited with a large family, dog, house, car, girlfriend... 8)   just kidding about the dog.  Ouch, I just now got smacked on the head for the girlfriend comment, LOL.

Anyways, my wife started with the hobby years ago, and now I've kinda ran with it.  It is nice to have a partner who is into too, makes it alot more fun.

No......  The 90 gallon tank is an Oceanic and we purchased it from Fish Land in Houston.  Nice people and the owner claims that he will beat any LFS price on items he stocks.
