What is an o cat ?

    o cat = Otocinclus catfish.

Most common of them I believe is the Otocinclus vittatus. They are found in many stores and are sold around $3.00 each. Now these guys LOVE to be in a group, so getting at least 4-6 should be bought for a 29g tank and you should have upto and over 20 of them in larger tanks. When you see them school and play together you will understand. They are big eaters of Algae (but they are very small) therefore having many of them is still important. Since their small size they should not be kept with fish who might look at them as a quick meal, though, they are VERY quick swimmers.

In case its fungus, try treating the tank with Pimafix. Also consider soaking that driftwood in a strong saline solution, maybe even boil it.

I had this same stuff on my drift wood for a few weeks and then it went away. No big deal at all, it just looked nasty for a bit. It kinda looks like cotton, or spider webs on tree branches.

It will just go away after a little bit of time.
