So I finally got the silt down and I planted an annubias near the base of the driftwood on the right and planted a few java fern on the wood on the left I also allowed a couple to free float and plant themselves where they feel like. I also replaced the trim with a different one that I cut and stained. I think next week I will put my Discus in here as long as I have no problem with the Snow ball pleco, the additonal Para tetra, and a cool pair of Furcatus rainbows.

I also decided to remove the Rio Grande river rock that was in the middle and replaced it with the granite that was on the back side since the new driftwood is taking up that spot. If anyone wants it I am giving it away for free. It is about 30lbs and bought it for about $6 just come and get it. PM if anyone wants it. Please dont post on here if you do. I didnt want to start a thread just for it.

I had to cut that left side if you are looking at the first pic it was just taller than the 29" and the width of the driftwood is exactly 18" if you put it in right. It was a pain getting that thing in there due to the center brace. But it looks great and it was the right touch on the tank. I am very pleased with how it all turned out but I will listen to any advice to make it better.

The effect of that big driftwood is stunning.  Anubias and/or moss would love to live there :)  

I appreciate your slow methodical approach to setting up your aquarium.  I always throw myself into projects, and then have to go back and redo so many things- lol.

Yeah my first tank I did that then when I did my Malawi tank I took a little more time and was more excited with the end product. This time I decided I wanted to do it right and be picky with exactly the right materials to use running into just the right items along the way. And I am really excited with how it is coming and I too cannot wait to put the Discus in there. Thanks FL and Treehugger.

Dan I think I got the right set up from talking to you about the 1/3 2/3 and how the eyes follow. Let me know guys how you see it but I am seeing the driftwood on the left pulls your eyes from the wall to the right as it points to the smaller driftwood which brings you back down to the ground and the bottom limb sends you back to the left with the strategic granite rock pointing you back up the driftwood to start it all over again without to much going on to distract you.

So I added my two discus from my other tank to this one yesterday. They seem to be doing fine. They are scared though hiding in the rocks. Also picked up some Cory's.
