Kool that sounds good. You can put in some crypts and Moss to make it low maintenance. show us some pics when you do that :emtthumbs: .

Yeah they look pretty good. Actually if you can cram in a 25 W LOA bulb you could grow a lot of things . The only thing i hate about these cubes is the reflectors or the lack of it in the hood. But my next nano would definitely be a ADA Mini.

i dont know how you dont melt anything with  a bulb like that but i guess without a hood more heat escapes`into the room. i will have to get a pick of my 5 gallon up, i have some dwarf anubias (it was sold as wild anubias but it could be "petite" nana, some bronze wendii red( well supposedly, i took the clipppings from a potted plant as work) a little ball of x-mas moss, and some sagitaria for the back ground, i tried frill in the back and the light just doesnt hit there well, so maybe i try easier stem there, maybe wisteria. though it will prob just grow towards light, maybe just put a nice piece of wood.

Sorry Tiapan but why do you think the plants would melt? My crypts did melt a little in the 1st week but thats normal. I would rather say all the plants are doing gr8 with that light.
I would love to see you your tank . Get a pic soon!!!!!!!!!!!
For the corner i would say try some rotala indica. I know someone will say it need a lot of light but in my experience it just grows slowly in lowlight with the shape of leaves changing from long to more rounded. But it still look nice and would add to the contrast in the leaf  shape in your  nano.

                    Re: 5G "Crypt Cove" Journal

6 Week update - Added some L.Arcuata and R.Indica today. The tank badly needs a trim but will have to wait till the L. Arcuata settles a bit.
Anyone has experience with L.Arcuata ? Any Tips?

blast it with light, co2 and be a bit generous with the ferts.....are you using ADA's ferts? if not get a little bottle of ECA and dose as the instructions say.....really makes them glow!

yeah got all that going. I am using the ADA ferts . DO you think using Seachem Iron to ECA make a difference.?

Seachem Iron doesn't hold a dime to ECA.....When I was dosing Seachem and striving for the Iron rich tank I dosed 2x the amount of iron along with my std dosing and got nothing out of it till I went with ECA!

It's just a supplement and not meant to be a fert so as soon as it gets you where you want to be back off.

Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

                                Hahhahaa.......

I was thinking the same thing earlier...

I am setting up another tank and it will be more fish orientated but will have a basic scape of plants in it and coudn't figure out what substrate to use. I thought I would like sand but IMO not too pretty with the fish I'm gonna use. Then I settled on the tiny  natural colored tiny gravel but.....it's not too pretty.........then I flipped through my ADA catalog and there was my answer!!! Bright sand!!!

I will probably either buy it from CityPets which carries all the goods or just wait till next week, John said we should be having a meeting next week.
