    My Shrimp Tank

    alright I made it, i have a shrimp tank. after killing about 15 ghost shrimp from a shock i seem to be doing everything right this time.

    just one thing, what do i need to do to make my water clear. it looks foggy, cloudy. both of my tanks looks like the water is super or or completely dirty but its not. PH its at 7.6 temp is at 76-80f

    I would like to give a special thanks to Roy who made it possible. he gave me a lot of info about shrimp and hook me up with some, and all the females are berried.

    this new tank its hard to photograph.

    If the tank is new, I'd suspect that the cloudiness is just a bacterial bloom, which will go away shortly.

    Congrats on getting it up and running!

      yeah prolly a bloom, any efforts you make to clear that up will be counter productive to the cycling process. aquariums require too much patience!

        Bacteria bloom or just particles from the substrate.

            Seems that 1 female died from the morning. And the other 5 are just hiding. Would assasin snail kill shrimp?

                I thou they may had been the reason, as the other shrimp seem fine. I guess she was to stress to a new home with way less places to hide than its original home

                  Have you tested your water params?

                  Also on that note have you compared it to the sellers water params?

                    Roy told me he uses straigth tap water and ph between 7-8 i am on 7.6

                          I think I read that the tank is newly set up. Maybe you are getting spikes cause from me exp RCS are like roaches and can live just about any condition

                            The tank has been set up for about 2 weeks now.

                            He gave me 6 shrimp, i see 1 dead and 3 active, 2 may be on the back where i cant see them.

                              Did it have any livestock prior? 2wks with no seeding or prior livestock would mean you are probably at the peak of a cycle.
