30g - Long "Bikini Bottom" - invert dominant tank

I've had the same experience with them as you had! This is the first out of maybe 10 I've owned that was close! this one is about .5 off when checked against the Tru-temp probe and raytech.

I have two glass thermometers that read 5-7degs off from this one, imagine that.

They must have improved in the last few years. I bought about 7 or 8 of them a few years back, but noticed that the temps were all over the place. So I decided to check them by putting them all in the same tank, side by side. No two registered the same temp, and some were off by quite a bit. Some were just flat out broken, giving all kinds of readings.

I considered contacting the company, but then I discovered that their variance rating was higher than the regular glass thermometers and that there were a lot of complaints from others, so I just cut my losses and threw the things away.

Got bored and dug through some old fish stuf boxes and found a bag of pc fans. About an hour worth of wiring, rigging a wire mount and positioning I got it wired up to my power supply.

Normally tank sits at 76-78 with ambient temp/ac set at 72f midday.
Raised the ambient temp/ac to 75 and was able to bring the water temp down to this before the heater kicked on(set at 70)




Would say that cooling through evaporation brought it down approx 10-12deg if factoring the ambient temp change that was not recorded.

thebaoster ordered some and I snagged one... for when your nearest outlet is far away and your phone battery is dieing, instead of sitting next to the wall you can go where ever you want!

my arse sitting here scrambling to find the charger, got this 15' micro usb wire from one side of the room to the other trying to power the camera and take shots through the computer and it don't even work.

15 foot? Ridiculous. Why do you even HAVE that!?
