Prime, It costs a couple bucks more, but one bottle lasts 5 times as long. I do keep a bottle of amquel handy for emergencies though. Amquel seems a bit more touchy with reducing oxygen in the tank too. I had to be careful how high I had the water level when I used the stuff.

Dunno about that. I used to drain the tank about 95% and then refill and I would add AmQuel+ at the 10% mark. I didn't have any problem.

        amquel+ or prime

Both are good and proven dechlorinators. I'm using safe (powder version of prime) due the amount of my weekly w/c.

How's it going for you? I was thinking of using safe as well because I've been doing large water changes every 2-3 days and Safe would be more cost efficient. I usually buy a gallon of amquel+ and it lasts about two months or so. I tend to use half a dose because I run the water through a carbon bottle.

It works perfect for me and have been using safe for the last 2-3 years. I also run the water trough a carbon bottle but don't want troubles with chloramines poisoning my fish. I use the recommended dose (1tsp per 200gl). That thing last forever

Sweet! I think I'll try some next time I go buy dechlorinator. Do you know of a place to get a good deal on it?

City Pets can order this for you locally or kensfish has the best price online.

I am not a professional tester but I have tested them. Amequl+Plus and prime do the same with chlorine/cloramines but I find Amequal+plus does a better job with nitrites and nitrates.

Thanks everyone it Seems like a split I've always used prime and never had a problem I do 90% water changes twice a week on my tanks and soon I'm gonna hopefully get a 180 for my trophs and was gonna go with safe at that point but I've heard a lot of yall talk about amquel+ so I was curious about it

That's what I was thinking spend less making safe water and more on fish
