Safe is my favorite. Its highly concentrated. Got 1kg of it from kensfish for 23.95. Treats 200,000 gallons. Smells really bad though. Sulfur content.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

It is cheaper than prime and In my opinion it works better.
Kordon's AmQuel+ does wonders! I've seen this question pop up often, but I'm sticking to AmQuel+ until I'm done with the hobby.Last edited by mistahoo; 09-09-2012, 09:18 PM.

Prime is foul smelling as well... I got some on my hand and the smell wouldn't go away! It smells like very strong sulfur. IMO AmQuel+ doesn't smell as bad, but it does have an odor. I think all of them have an odor though...Originally posted by jeb102385 View PostI dont really like amquel It smells terrible... I spilled it once and couldnt get rid of the smell

Dechlorinators use sodium thiosulfate to remove the choramine, hence the sulfer smell. The more concentrated the dechlorinator (like Prime), the stronger the smell. Amquel uses Sodium hydroxymethanesulfonate ... so there is still sulfer in there.-j-
Don't ask me, I don't know. I'm just visiting the reality and can't wait to go home.

Ask Sunken, he's tried Prime and AmQuel+. He likes the latter better. I always started with AmQuel+ because of EK. Never had a problem with it.

This wasn't a test, but they labeled what they claim to do side by side.Originally posted by cu0ngsayz View PostNah in talking about professionally test it. Before and after the 2 products. I think I posted one up where they tested all the dechlorinate and they said prime removed the most chemical out the water.
